Hello world!

with one comment

Afternoon lover. :) Hmm. Step one: log in. I’ma send you the details on MSN and in an email ’cause I’m not stupid enough to post ‘em here, believe it or not.

Now, when you’ve logged in you should come to a page like this:

This is the dashboard for my blog. At the top of the screen, there’s a toolbar. Hover over the My Dashboards link and click on shreddielove. This should take you to your own dashboard:

It doesn’t look much different, huh? I know. But this is the place from which you can control all of your blog. It’s very important.

Now, you see that bar down the left-hand side? It’s full of links. Click on the RIGHT HAND SIDE OF them (a teeny arrow appears when you hover) and a box drops down containing … various things. You aren’t gonna be needing many of these; Posts and Pages, mainly.

First we’ll start with posts. Hover over it. See the teeny arrow on the right of the word? Yeah, click that. You should get a drop down box:

Now we click Add New. That takes you too a new page. This is what you do with the top half of the page:

On the SECOND HALF of the page, you shouldn’t need to do anything. Uncheck the box labelled Allow Comments if you don’t want comments to appear on the post.

To publish your post, click on the blue button that says ‘Publish’ on the right hand side of the page.

And that’s posts my dear!

PAGES. Yeah. Them. :)

Currently, you only have one page – about you. Basically, to access your pages, you do the same process as above; pages in the list on the left-hand side, click the arrow… then what?

Well, you can click on edit -this takes you to a new page:

Now, hover over Ellie Louise and click edit. You end up on a new page. Write whatever you need to in the box, which works in the same way as when you’re writing a blog. When you’ve finished, press ‘Update’ (the blue button on the right-hand side of the page).

I think that’s all you’ll need to know for now. If you need any help, I’m always here. And I’m about to send you the password so get ready to have some HAPPY BLOGGING!
